lyrics

(Verse 1)

My first tattoo is my Mic Star

On my right arm

A commitment to the game

My personal alarm

So I can wake up daily

See it in the mirror

So no matter what they say to me

My path will seem clearer

A commitment to myself

As well as my music

It will be there forever

So I’ll never lose it

At times I set the mic down

And left it too long

Then I see it in my reflection

And keep pushing on

The next ink that I got

Is for my fallen brother

An emcee and a friend

Unique, like no other

Big Ant got taken

From the world too soon

Rest In Power with a mic

Cause his spirit’s in the room

The very next time, I would get a tatt

Is the Cadillac logo

On my right calf

People who know me

Know What I drive

Not on materialism

But I like what I like

(Chorus)

If these tattoos could talk

Oh the stories they’d tell

Oh the stories they’d tell

If these tattoos could speak

Oh the things you’d see

Oh the things you’d see

If these tattoos could scream

Oh how they would yell

Oh how they would yell

If these tattoos could cry

Oh how they would weep

Oh how they would weep

(Verse 2)

In 2008

I had an awakening spiritually

Out on tour

The truth became clear to me

So a month later

I returned to Oregon

And I got tatted

With my Sesa Worubin

An ancient African symbol

It carries heavy meaning

About transforming my life

That I was really needing

So over the course of the years

And through what I’ve seen

I’m still in transformation

As a human being

As my journey continued

I expanded my art

My life came full circle

I came back to the start

Writing graffiti on trains

Was element number one

So I got 7 tips tatted

For good luck when I’d run

Finally on my arm

Ink blessed it with beauty

Meant to merge elements

Both of which spoke to me

So I enlisted an artist

Who wrote graffiti

To tattoo a burner

That reads emcee

(Chorus)

If these tattoos could talk

Oh the stories they’d tell

Oh the stories they’d tell

If these tattoos could speak

Oh the things you’d see

Oh the things you’d see

If these tattoos could scream

Oh how they would yell

Oh how they would yell

If these tattoos could cry

Oh how they would weep

Oh how they would weep
